********CRITIQUES, RULES, AND NOTES********
Be aware of the following rules before posting comments:
- Please do not post summaries of the video in the comments - it damages retention on the video and UA-cam is less likely to promote it (these videos cost me a lot of money to produce).
Critiques of my work are welcome! Please be aware of the following notes & rules before submitting critique:
Be mindful that this content is not all encompassing on the subject at hand and is self-limited for brevity to reach a wider audience. Also, be aware that I receive hundreds of UA-cam comments per day, so the only way your critique can be considered is if you follow the steps outlined below. Finally, UA-cam auto-deletes links, so I do not see most comments with links attached.
RULES:
If your comment is rude, you will be banned.
If your comment is not about the studies/topics at hand (i.e. extending to other outcomes not discussed) or offers critique with no scientific basis, it is unlikely to receive a response.
If you can follow these rules, I will try to address your critique and if there is merit, I will add an AMENDMENT to the content in question and pin it so everyone can see it (thank you!).

Calorie dense highly palatable foods is the real issue. It's so easy to overconsume nowadays if you aren't careful. At the end of the day, weight management boils down to CICO.

Dogs don’t have heart attacks because they make their own Vitamin C. That *should* tell you “everything.” I’m 78. A recent sonogram of my carotid arteries showed <16% clogged in one and 16%-39% clogged in the other. Yet, i’m 40lbs overweight and heart disease is in my family. My brother has had 4 heart attacks. How did I do it? 30 years of Vit C daily. Why? Humans don’t make their own Vitamin C. Without enough Vit C the arteries form lesions that the body fills in with plaque. Think limeys and lemonies that kept sailors from scurvy. Don’t count on Big Pharma to tell you that. 😂😂

I do like Dr. Berg. No one is perfect but I do appreciate having the scientific information. Now I have to question his information on amount of potassium we need a day, 4700 mg and a banana only has 300 mg. So, I will research that. I follow Dr. Brad and was listening to Dr. Sinclair also when I started my longevity plan in the past year. That's why I am glad I found you! Just started the Taurine. Oh, I was taking Turmeric and Glucosamine 1 or 2 caps. Your research showed not to take them together I believe.

I’m a tad obsessed with “average life expectancy” vs longevity. John Adam’s the U.S. 2nd president lived to be 90 and was President in his 60s and there were Roman emperors in their 70s but people always talk about life expectancy like it is so much better now when the rise in the average probably just comes from antibiotics and nutrition improvements. And one of my parents and probably both 😢 will pass a good bit younger than their parents.

About shoes... It's a good idea to have 2-3 pairs of shoes available for a walk. Using the same pair all the time wears them out sooner. Rotating them helps. Sweat, wet weather/terrain are factors. The uppers may become weaker, allowing for more play in the upper. Many high end shoes have breathable uppers that are great! But these can become surprisingly compromised faster over a short time without care and attention. Those same high end shoes can also have some of the best cushioning as well. Some shoes even have different versions of the same model shoe, one with a more malleable upper and another with a less malleable upper. Brooks Glycerin GTS 21 (Stealthfit vs non-Stealthfit), for one. This is actually my favorite shoe at the moment. Some very breathable uppers are easy to wear holes in the upper even, before the 300-500 miles are up. I've found the Glycerin to be immune from the hole situation. But I also found they require a break from daily wear. When a shoe is $160 a pair, it doesn't mean what everyone thinks it should. In the case of this particular shoe, the company may give a 90-day return policy but this is a relatively uncommon policy in my experience. I've seen ultramarathon shoes way more expensive than that, but they were built for technical trails and distance. The ultra runners change shoes during the same multi-day events.

While I recognise that walking is good for health, 20000 steps takes approximately four hours to complete… not many folks can dedicate four hours a day to walking. Life gets in the way of “living”.

Hallelujah!...of course all calories are equal, it drives me insane when I hear so called experts saying all calories are not equal. Obviously, the way calories from different food sources are metabolised will differ but this does not mean 'all calories are not equal'. Great explanation as usual....put those 'all calories are not equal' fools back in their boxes.

Let me guess - xylitol is cheap to produce, has no patent on it and has some major health benefit/s which is costing an industry money. THAT is the main motivation for these type of studies. Unfortunately the profession is now so corrupt, none of these studies can be trusted because they always have ulterior motives, hidden agendas and are funded by people who are paying for a specific outcome which is almost always false.

Anyone in the Keto or Carnivore realm using this data to promote saturated fat as healthy and anyone in the Vegan or Plant Based realm to demonize saturated fat should be ashamed of themselves. They are proving themselves to be ignorant and incapable of critical thinking skills, grasping at anything they believe proves their belief is correct, or out right using misleading information to con people into believing one way or another.

75 vs 73 is a 2.7 percent difference in comparison numbers and 72 vs 69 is a 4.2 percent difference in comparison numbers making this a poor mathematical example as the patient/autopsy numbers are so low. and makes a huge difference on the final values. In the perfect world if we had 100,000 people in the intervention and 99,998 in the control then it would not matter in the final values one way or another as there is only a .00002 percent of difference in comparison numbers. Small sample sizes and uneven numbers between groups to begin with or from dropouts makes way too many studies worthless when the final values are so close, unless the final values come in vastly different. An example is shooting people in the head with a shotgun slug at 2 feet or a Nerf gun at 2 feet with 75 in the shotgun group and 90 in the Nerf group to see which weapon is more dangerous. After 100 percent fatality in the shotgun group vs 0 percent in the Nerf group it does not matter that the sample was so small and had a 26.7 percent difference in comparison numbers. Same would hold true if comparison numbers were off by 2.7 percent or 4.2 percent for the gun example becaus ethe final values were extreme being 100 percent fatal and 0 percent fatal. But the autopsy would matter because the 2 people short in coronary and 3 short in aortic control could have really changed the final values. The numbers in this study are just too weak to say anything one way or another.
